I Know Where the Summer Goes

When I posted a few of these images to the blog months ago I had no idea who the photographer was; I was just drawn to the Lary Clark style shots. As it turns out the photographer, Ryan McGinley, is a close friend of Dash Snow (see a few posts down) and is the youngest photographer to have ever shown a solo exhibition at the Whitney. McGinley brings a light and playful tone to the world of modern photography, “as if the world were on recess”, a world which often is depicted by others (such as Clark or Boogie) through a much more grim lens.
I couldn’t find too many shots from his original show The Kids Are Alright, but below are some photos from his website and collection I Know Where the Summer Goes
