I love this shit….
Today, I worked a slightly earlier schedule than normal and had the pleasure of going to the Joshua Liner Gallery in Chelsea. As soon as I had seen the posting for a Kris Kuksi showing, I was instantly intrigued by his work. Almost like a modern day H.R. Geiger, Kuksi’s work is an intricate weaving of both real and surreal. This shit was so good, it gave me a boner, just like a fourteen year old boy at cheer-leading camp. I think probably ever model I ever assembled was in here, mashed up into these beauiful sculptures. (…and I’m not ashamed to admit it, I used to obsessively paint Citadel/Games Workshop/ Warhammer models for days, and probably would’ve been the youngest painter to hook it up in Golden Demon/Games Day. Killin’ all the 30-40 year old nerds…but that shit is for kids…) Needless to say, it was definitely worth a trip. Headed down to Union NYC, who by great fortune, is one of our stockists, afterwards and copped my first real full-price streetwear tee in a year and a half. Go PAM! Kids out here don’t understand that kind of shit, so go pack your bags and head deeper into BK. Perks and Mini is truly one of the better brands (low, mid or high-end) out there and I am always willing to support those who stand behind the use of organic materials. Recession specials, kids. Half-off. Gotta treasure the gems when you find them.
